Proposed Thalassemia Transfusion Centre – A Step Towards a Thalassemia-Free Society

In our continued commitment to saving lives and serving humanity, the Rotary Blood Centre, with the support of Rotary Club of Delhi Ashoka, is setting up a dedicated Thalassemia Transfusion Centre. This initiative is generously supported through a CSR grant from Emu Lines Pvt. Ltd., Delhi, an organisation of IPDG Amita and PP Anil Mohindru (D-3012).

The proposed centre aims to provide regular and safe blood transfusion services to 250 children suffering from Thalassemia, helping them access timely treatment, improve their quality of life, and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Our commitment, however, extends beyond providing blood transfusions to children living with thalassemia. As part of our preventive healthcare initiative, every blood donation collected at the Rotary Blood Centre will undergo thalassemia screening. Individuals identified as Thalassemia Minor carriers will be informed confidentially about their status and provided appropriate counselling regarding the implications, precautions, and further steps they may consider, particularly in relation to family planning and prevention of Thalassemia Major.

Through this integrated approach of care, awareness, screening, and counselling, we aspire not only to support children living with thalassemia but also to contribute meaningfully towards preventing the birth of children affected by Thalassemia Major.

We sincerely acknowledge the generous support of Rotary Club of Delhi Ashoka and Emu Lines Pvt. Ltd. for helping translate this vision into reality.

Together, let us give children with thalassemia a healthier tomorrow and move towards a future where no child suffers from this preventable disorder.

Every Drop Counts. Every Life Matters. Together, We Can Make a Difference.
